Poonch: Mughal Road remained devoid of congestion on Thursday, a day after the Srinagar Jammu National Highway was completely restored for ordinary vehicle traffic.

In light of the reopening of the major highway between Srinagar and Jammu, officials noted that “the number of vehicles plying on this road has registered a decline.”

“On Thursday, vehicles were moving all day long on Mughal Road, but congestion was minimal, except at Poshana, where they remained stranded for some time, due to checking at army and police check posts,” they added.

“The number of vehicles has decreased as the majority of traffic is now moving from the main highway,” they said.

When the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway was stopped for three days owing to bad weather, traffic on Mughal Road increased significantly.
