Sluggish traffic was seen on NH-44 between Nashri and the NAVYUG Tunnel from November 6th to November 7th, 2023, owing to a breakdown of four heavy goods vehicles (HMVs), a bad road surface in the Dalwas area, and single-lane traffic in the Cafeteria-Mehad, Magerkote, and Nachlana areas.
Traffic between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel will be closed tomorrow, November 8th, from midnight to four in the morning, as the District Magistrate of Ramban has ordered the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to launch girders at the Nashri viaduct. This is being done to ensure the safety of the local populace, travelers, and drivers. Please plan your travels for tomorrow, November 8th, 2023, without using the Jammu Srinagar National Highway (NHW) between the hours of 00:00 and 04:00.
Drivers of heavy vehicles (LMVs) and passengers are urged to avoid joumey on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at night. Nighttime travel is discouraged because of the potential disruption caused by nomads making their way from the Kashmir valley to Jammu.
HMV’s operators and owners are urged to avoid overloading and carry sufficient fuel during their journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Drivers are also urged to ensure their cars are in good working order and to stock up on petrol before setting out on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
High-Mobility Vehicles (HMVs) with just 6 and 10 tires would be permitted to use Dhar Road.

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) will be open to light motor vehicles (LMVs), passenger vehicles (PCs), heavy motor vehicles (HMVs), and load carriers (LCs) traveling in both directions between the two cities. It’s important for commuters to stay in their lanes.
Security Forces convoys may travel from either Jammu or Srinagar via the National Highway 44 (NH-44), if the weather is clear and the roads are passable.


SSGROAD
The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road will be open for vehicle traffic in both directions (from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa) when the weather is nice and the roads are passable. Between 7:30 and 11:30, traffic headed from Minamarg to Srinagar might consist of LMVs followed by HMVs. Similarly. From Sonamarg to Kargil, LMVs and then HMVs will be permitted between 1300 and 1700. No vehicle will be permitted beyond the designated end times.
Srinagar to Kargil SFs Convoy will depart at 8:00 a.m. The SFs convoy traveling between Drass and Srinagar must coordinate their routes so as to minimize disruptions to civilian traffic.
Vehicle traffic on the Mughal Road, both from Poonch to Shopian and in the other direction, is subject to favorable weather and road conditions.
From Behramgalla (Bufliaz) and Herpora (Shopian), these vehicles will be permitted between 0600 and 1800. When the clock strikes midnight, no vehicle is permitted.
Travel on NH-44 is discouraged until the following information has been confirmed by the appropriate traffic control units: Contact Jammu (0191-2459048), Srinagar (0194-02450022), Ramban (9419993745), Udhampur (8491928625), or PCR Kishtwar (9906154100) to find out the current condition of Sinthan Road.
