Assuming favourable road and weather conditions On NH-44 between Jammu and Srinagar, both passenger and private vehicles, as well as heavy and cargo trucks, would be permitted to go in either direction. Drivers are reminded to maintain proper lane formation.
The movement of Security Forces convoys along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), from Jammu in the direction of Srinagar and vice versa, is subject to favourable weather and road conditions.
ROAD SSG
The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road will be open for vehicle traffic in both directions (from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa) when the weather is nice and the roads are passable. From Minamarg, traffic headed towards Srinagar would be restricted to LMVs and HMVs only between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. From Sonamarg to Kargil, LMVs followed by HMVs will be permitted between the hours of 1300 and 1700. When the gates close, no cars will be let in.
Starting at 8:00 a.m., the SF Convoy will depart Srinagar for Kargil. The SFs convoy travelling between Drass and Srinagar must coordinate their routes so as to minimise disruptions to civilian traffic.
Vehicles will be able to travel from Poonch to Shopian and vice versa along the Mughal Road, provided the weather is nice and the road is in excellent shape. Beginning at 06:00 and ending at 18:00, these vehicles will be permitted to travel between Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian). After the designated time has passed, no vehicles will be admitted.
