Ganderbal, August 7: In an ongoing endeavour to rid the community of its drug problem, police in Ganderbal have arrested two drug dealers and seized their stash.
Waseem Ahmad Bhat @Kulcha, a resident of Wanipora Saloora, was apprehended by a police force from PS Ganderbal at a roadblock set up in Saloora. After a thorough investigation, 33 strips of illegal substances (Doltemm-100) were found in his possession.
Also, an Alto-800 with the number plate number JK04E-9332 was being driven by a man named Manzoor Ahmad Reshi, who lives in Haripora Bonzail Kangan and was stopped by a police force from PS Sonamarg at a checkpoint set up near Naka Shutkadi. Poppy straw was found in his belongings during the search. The car he was driving while committing the act has been confiscated and he has been placed under custody.
As a result, cases have been filed at the appropriate police stations under the applicable laws and investigations have begun.
Anyone with knowledge about drug trafficking in their community is urged to speak out. The police have warned that anybody caught selling illegal substances would face the full force of the law.
