25 July, Srinagar: Two members of the terrorist group Lashkar-i-Toiba were detained by police on Tuesday in the Kreeri neighbourhood of Baramulla, North Kashmir, according to authorities.

According to a statement cited by GNS, joint personnel of the Baramulla Police and 29 RR set up an MVCP at the bus stop in Chak Tapper Kreeri after receiving specific information about militant activity there.

According to the police spokesperson, two suspects who were travelling from Chak Tapper towards Main Road Kreeri attempted to run after seeing a combined naka party but were successfully caught.

Two Chinese Pistols, two pistol magazines, 14 live bullets, one ID card, and one photocopied Aadhar Card were found during their personal check, and they were promptly brought into prison. He claimed that they were afterwards identified as Dayem Majeed Khan S/O Ab Majeed Khan R/O Check Panjigam Bandipora & Ubair Tariq S/O Tariq Ahmad Khan R/O Watrina Phalwanpora Panjigam Bandipora.

According to him, both terrorist associates admitted during the preliminary inquiry that they were members of the LeT outfit, a militant group that is prohibited, and that they had gathered weapons and ammunition for target assassination in the District of Baramulla.

According to the statement, a case was opened under the UA (P) Act and the Indian Arms Act at Police Station Kreeri.
