Two people, including an army jawan, drown in Chenab in Doda

Doda, 03 August: According to police sources, two people, including an army soldier, perished in the Chenab River close to Doda.

They said that Rohit Singh, an army soldier, age 25, and Sunil Kumar, age 24, both inhabitants of Durga Nagar Khallani in Doda, drowned in the Chenab river close to the hamlet as they were washing their hands after the observance of final rites for a relative on the river’s banks.

Police said they had started a rescue effort.
