Ramban, March 26: On Tuesday, LMVs and heavy trucks may go both ways on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH 44).

The Ramban traffic authorities stated hundreds of LMVs and heavy trucks traversed the Nashri-Banihal sector for their destinations without interruption throughout the day.

The recent NH news says heavy load carriers are headed to Kashmir and Jammu in a controlled way.

Traffic remained delayed owing to a few large trucks breaking down, a single road, and bad road conditions at Dalwass, Mehar-Cafeteria, Ramban, Panthya-Nagarkot, Shalgari, Nachlana, and many other spots between Nashri and Banihal, officials added.

On Wednesday, the J&K Traffic Police Department advised LMVs to drive on either side of the highway if weather and road conditions were good.

Traffic authorities said heavy trucks may drive on the route after checking the road and traffic conditions on Wednesday.

They urged passenger car operators, commuters, and passengers not to travel on the highway at night owing to shooting stone fears between Ramban and Banihal.

“Prefer highway travel only during the day,” they suggested.
