Numerous government-declared holidays will be observed throughout the month of November, including the major celebrations of Diwali, Bhai Dooj, and Chhath Puja.

It’s quite unlikely that students won’t take time off from school in November to celebrate the holidays. However, if the government sets aside official holidays, kids may celebrate. When there is a government holiday, the joy of children knows no bounds, and the stress of parents having to repeatedly request leave is alleviated. This way, kids don’t have to go through the inconvenience of applying at school or coming up with an excuse to use at dinner. At this point, we’re simply having fun.

Time off exclusively during holidays

When significant holidays, like Diwali, Bhai Dooj, and Chhath Puja, occur in the month of November, we witness a similar pattern. In addition, holidays will be observed for the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur and the birthday of Guru Nanak. There are a total of six days off in November due to various religious and cultural celebrations. Chhoti Diwali, celebrated on the 11th; Diwali, celebrated on the 12th; Govardhan Puja, celebrated on the 13th; Bhai Dooj, celebrated on the 15th; and Chhath Puja, celebrated on the 19th, are all official holidays. In addition, both Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day (November 24) and Guru Nanak Jayanti (November 27) will be observed as official holidays.

Festival-time merriment and vacation

The unique aspect is that certain educational institutions also observe Saturday as a day off. If this happens, the weeks of November 4–5 and 25–26 will be off for students. Many schools, however, do not observe any of the holidays indicated above, and many do not even observe the Saturday holiday. In this case, it will be up to the school administration to choose which of the several holidays announced for the month of November will actually be observed by granting students time off. The pupils in schools that have these breaks are obviously overjoyed, but even those who don’t have them are holding out hope that their school administration will eventually announce breaks for important events.
