Dehradun, 7 October: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that organisations have changed from being advisory forums to being action-oriented bodies under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He stressed that these councils now play a crucial role in resolving issues and putting new policies into effect.

The Central Zonal Council’s 24th meeting was presided over by Shah, who noted that the function of the councils had changed from one of advice to one of action. Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh are members of the Central Zonal Council and have made significant contributions to the GDP and development of the nation.

He said that the Central Zonal Council’s member states are the nation’s principal hubs for agricultural, animal husbandry, food grain production, mining, water supply, and tourism. According to the home minister, “adequate water supply cannot be imagined without these states.”

The Union Home Minister stressed that Prime Minister Modi has always placed a priority on fostering the ideals of cooperative federalism.

In accordance with this strategy, Zonal Councils have acted as catalysts for problem-solving, expanding financial inclusion, and enacting policy improvements. The grassroots implementation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Team India idea has been done by the Central Zonal Council’s states, he said.

Pulses, oilseeds, and maize grown by farmers nationwide would be entirely purchased by NAFED at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), according to Shah, marking a crucial step towards achieving the Prime Minister’s goal of ensuring the prosperity of the nation’s farmers.

The Central Zonal Council approved a resolution during the meeting praising all the athletes for bringing honour to India by winning more than 100 medals at the Asian Games for the first time.

The Central Zonal Council also praised the G20 Summit’s smooth organisation, the approval of the Women’s Reservation Bill by Parliament, and the success of the Chandrayaan-3 moon mission.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was present during the meeting. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, joined the meeting through video conference as well. Along with other authorities, Tamradhwaj Sahu, the home minister for Chhattisgarh, was present.

The states of Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh are members of the Central Zonal Council.
