Several groups from Srinagar paid a visit to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, including the All J&K Sikh Coordination Committee, the Kashmir Jurists, and the Kashmir Road Safety Foundation (KRSF).

According to a statement released by the government here, a delegation representing Sikh organisations from across J&K, led by Chairman JKSCC S Ajit Singh and including elected members of Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees, thanked the LG for a number of firsts in terms of development and governance in the state.

According to the spokesperson, the delegation of notable Sikh community members brought up numerous problems related to the community, such as the integration of the Punjabi language into the School Education in J&K and the granting of reservation for the minuscule minority.

According to him, they also spoke about the issue of allocating land to rebuild the ancient Gurudwara Charan Kamal Asthan Guru Nanak Sahib Ji in the Village of Ser Manjla (Ram Nagar), Udhampur.

The spokesperson for the LG claimed that the LG had promised the delegation that their legitimate concerns and requests would be addressed immediately.

Separately, an official spokeswoman here said that the LG was visited at Raj Bhavan by a team of Kashmir Jurists, a group of attorneys from Kashmir headed by Advocate Altaf Lone.

According to him, the LG was also visited by a group from the Kashmir Road Safety Foundation (KRSF), headed by the organization’s chairman, Nasir Ali Khan.
