With winter tightening its grip on Kashmir, Srinagar trembles at -3.3°C

December 28, Srinagar: The Kashmir valley dropped below freezing temperatures. Srinagar recorded the lowest temperature at -3.3°C, while Qazigund, Pahalgam, and Kupwara all had very low temperatures.

Qazigund reported -3.8°C, while Srinagar had a low temperature of -3.3°C. It was a chilly morning for locals and tourists alike in the charming town of Pahalgam when the temperature fell to -5.4°C.

Other places that saw cold temperatures were Kupwara (-4.3°C), Kokernag (-2.0°C), Gulmarg (-2.6°C), Anantnag (-4.9°C), Ganderbal (-5.5°C), Pulwama (-6.4°C), Bandipora (-5.9°C), Baramulla (-4.2°C), Budgam (-5.1°C), Kulgam (-2.0°C), and Shopian (-5.6°C). It was also quite cold in these other places.

In the Jammu area, Banihal recorded 9.2°C, while Jammu witnessed a low temperature of 5.8°C. Different parts of the country also received varied degrees of chilly weather: Batote (6.2°C), Katra (7.5°C), Bhaderwah (2.0°C), Kathua (8.5°C), Ramban (4.1°C), Reasi (6.0°C), Samba (5.7°C), and Udhampur (4.5°C).

With Leh at -9.0°C, Kargil at -9.8°C, and Drass—which is notorious for its harsh winters—at -12.8°C, the higher-altitude Ladakh area saw very low temperatures.
