Thursday, August 22: Srinagar: According to the Baramulla Police Department, an individual who was suspected of rape was taken into custody on Tuesday, just a few hours after a complaint was made against him.
It was said that the Police Station in Baramulla had received a written complaint from a young girl, whose identity was suppressed, alleging that she had been raped at a remote location in Sangri after being kidnapped by Muhammad Umar Parray, a driver from Parray Mohalla in Sangri.
According to the police, a case under relevant provisions of the law was recorded at the Police Station in Baramulla, and an investigation has been launched.
It was said that throughout the investigation, police officers made use of both technological and human sources. After making significant efforts, they were able to locate and arrest the accused individual within hours of receiving the complaint.
Additional medical and legal procedures have been carried out, and an inquiry into the matter is now under way.
