On Thursday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir declared that the young people of the state were the face of the new Jammu and Kashmir.

At an event hosted by the ‘Sarhad’ Civil Society organisation in Pune, where the LG engaged with students from Jammu and Kashmir, he reportedly observed, “J&K is transforming and is on the move.” Our students from Jammu and Kashmir who are studying abroad represent the new face of the state. The young of today are fulfilling their potential and making significant contributions to the development of our country.

He spoke on the changes that have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir over the last several years and the impact that young people have had on the state’s social and economic development.

The LG stressed that young people’s holistic growth depends on their learning to think critically, creatively, and scientifically.

He lauded the efforts of ‘Sarhad’ in turning Aragam into a book village in conjunction with the Bandipora district government, as well as the organization’s Valley of Knowledge, Health Village, and Literary Floating Festival on Wular Lake.

In his speech, the LG praised Sarhad’s ‘Pune for Kashmir’ project, a socio-cultural-educational exchange that he believes is bringing people from the two areas closer together and exemplifying the genuine spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

The young of Pune were encouraged to go to J&K and see the region’s revitalization firsthand.

Aruna Dhere’s Yogini Lalleshwari biography, titled Lalla, was published by the LG.

He praised the writer for her outstanding contribution and hoped for her continued success.

The founder of Sarhad, Sanjay Nahar, and the National General Secretary of the BJP, Vinod Tawde, were also in attendance.
